MZU wraps up fall league

Mile Zero Ultimate (MZU) wrapped up its fall season by declaring the champions of its BIY indoor league on Dec. 16.

Aftermath defeated Rupaul: Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels by a score of 18-13 to win first place overall in the A bracket.

In bracket B, Flickipedia narrowly beat Dillon Panthers 14-13 to finish ninth. In bracket C, Crush beat Hard Pass 17-13 to place 17th.

In a fun twist on the BIY league, winning teams built their own trophies! Each team was given a pack of Mega Blocks and 60 seconds to create their prizes. Congratulations to all the winning teams!

MZU also recognized individuals and teams with additional awards, including:

  • Most Spirited Team: Hard Pass
  • Most Spirited Players: Geoff Winsor (Dillon Panthers), Marc Bennett (Huckin’ Fooligans) and Taylor Fradsham (The Mighty Hucks)
  • Most Valuable Players: Rosie Myers (Hard Pass), Myles Dooley (Awesome Hawks and the Beer Guns) and Miguel Santos (Sex Panther)

ISOTG Day contest update

MZU recognized International Spirit of the Game Day with a contest that entered all most spirited players from league games on Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 into a draw. The winner received a $50 gift card and $50 to donate to a charity of their choice.

The winner was Courtney Sharpe! Her charity of choice was the SPCA St. John’s. Congratulations, Courtney!
