Ultimate NL’s summer clinics programs doubled the number of kids reached this year.

Summer clinics co-ordinator Annika Bieger led 46 clinics involving 1,185 participants from June 16-Sept. 4. In 2018, 38 clinics reached over 600 youths.

“To see our clinic reach double from last year was a welcome surprise,” said Nick House, president of Ultimate NL. “Annika worked hard to bring our sport to communities outside of the metro region. We’re happy to see the program grow this year, and hope to see it expand in years to come.”

The clinic series was available to any individual or community group interested in learning more about ultimate. Bieger led participants through drills and scrimmages to introduce youths to the sport with the aim of growing ultimate throughout the province.

Bieger held clinics in St. John’s, Mount Pearl, Torbay, Kilbride, Foxtrap, Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s, Bay Roberts, Conception Bay South, Pouch Cove, Harbour Main and Old Perlican.

Clinics are still being offered by request throughout the year. You can request a clinic here or by emailing sportdev@ultimatenl.ca.
