Ultimate Newfoundland and Labrador is pleased to announce that Veterinary Speciality Centre (VSC) of Newfoundland and Labrador is returning for a second year as corporate sponsor for Storm and our youth provincial tournaments.
VSC has also sponsored Ultimate NL’s Discs for Schools initiative, which is providing 800 free discs to schools across the province. To date, 41 schools have requested discs through the initiative.
VSC, co-owned by Dr. Trina Bailey and John Mackenzie, is the only clinic in Newfoundland and Labrador that provides advanced medical care for pets in the province.
“We are very excited this year to return as the corporate sponsor for Ultimate NL’s Storm program and youth provincial tournaments, and make a contribution towards the Discs for Schools initiative,” said Mr. Mackenzie. “The sport and organization continue to impress us with its inclusiveness, sense of community and spirit of the game.”
“We’re really excited that VSC has returned as our sponsor again this year, and have even stepped up their support through Discs for Schools,” says Nick House, president of Ultimate NL. “VSC’s support enabled us to expand Discs for Schools from our original concept to one that’s benefiting dozens of schools around the province. It’s also allowing us to provide Storm athletes with more practice time and conditioning sessions, which better prepares them to compete against the best ultimate players in the country.
“Thanks to VSC, Storm athletes will have an incredible experience that will have a lasting impact as they continue with ultimate throughout their lives.”
VSC’s sponsorship will help offset the cost of field rentals, athletic gear, travel and other expenses related to operating Storm, the province’s junior open and female competitive club teams. The sponsorship will also go towards expenses associated with hosting Ultimate NL’s annual elementary, junior high and senior high provincial tournaments this spring.
Support for Discs for Schools is also provided by Ultimate Canada.
