Ultimate NL to hold annual general meeting
Ultimate NL’s annual general meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 7-9 p.m. at The Loft at Memorial University.
The AGM is a time to recap the year’s challenges and triumphs and elect the board of directors for 2018-2019.
Proposed bylaw change
This year, the board is proposing a bylaw change that would amend board positions to better reflect the growth of ultimate in the province. The current board is proposing that the positions of tournaments co-ordinator, volunteer co-ordinator and administrator be eliminated and those responsibilities folded into existing or newly created positions.
The proposal would split the current youth co-ordinator position into two: one focused on high-performance development through leagues and NL Storm (youth director, performance and development) and the other focused on ultimate in schools (youth director, schools).
The board also proposes creating three new positions: sport development director, which would be responsible for sport development not related to youth (e.g. clinics, coaching, leagues, etc.); a community outreach director responsible for events and outreach to partners, etc.; and a member-at-large position.

- Finance director
- Communications director
- Sport development director
- Youth director (performance and development)
- Youth director (schools)
- Events director
- Community outreach director
- Member at large (1 position)
Representatives from MZU, SWURL and MAUL are also assigned to the Ultimate NL board by those bodies.
Who can participate?
Anyone interested in the growth of ultimate in the province may attend the AGM. Only current Ultimate NL members may vote or run for a position on the board.
A current member is anyone who has played in a league, under the umbrella of Ultimate NL, since the last AGM, including the fall of 2017.
Can’t attend?
You can still run for a board position and vote on motions by assigning your vote to another current Ultimate NL player. Proxy forms are available here.
