A sold-out summer league saw four teams competing over seven weeks in the St. John’s Women’s Ultimate Recreational League (SWURL) this summer.

With a mandate to grow the sport of ultimate among women in the province, SWURL added weekly skill development clinics to game nights to help female players improve their skills. Fifty-six players participated in the league.

On the final night of competition, Princess Layout took on Han Block in the championship, emerging the victor with a score of 15-3.

Jessica Mandville was named most valuable player for the winning team with Yolanda Kuai chosen as most spirited player.

Luke Skybattle also defeated Threwbacca for third place.
