Dyer, LeDevehat win Premier’s Awards

Congratulations to Luke Dyer and Shae LeDevehat on receiving 2020 Premier’s Athletic Awards for ultimate from the Government of Newfoundland and Labardor.

These awards recognize athletic excellence and provides financial support to help offset costs incurred through training and competition. This year, 128 athletes were recognized in a virtual ceremony hosted by Premier Dwight Ball and Hon. Lisa Dempster, minister responsible for sport and recreation.

Dyer represented Canada at the Under 24 World Championships of Ultimate in Heidelberg, Germany in 2019. He earned a silver medal with the team. At the Canadian Ultimate Championships, Luke led Newfoundland and Labrador’s Regiment with 31 points on the way to the team’s twelfth-place finish. 

LeDevehat was named the first female-matching captain of the province’s junior open ultimate team, Storm, for the national championships in 2019. There, she was also named the team’s all-star player for the tournament.
