Long Range Academy in Cow Head claimed the first school banner in ultimate for the Northern Peninsula recently. The school hosted the School Sport NL (SSNL) Northern Peninsula Varsity Ultimate Tournament on May 14.

The growth of ultimate across Newfoundland and Labrador continues with Menihek High School in Labrador City hosting the region’s first school tournament on April 5-6. Four teams from Labrador competed in the Northern Varsity Ultimate Frisbee Tournament, sponsored by School Sports Newfoundland and Labrador (SSNL).

MPSH hosts first SSNL ultimate tournament

The first ultimate frisbee school tournament in the province was hosted by Mount Pearl Senior High (MPSH) on March 22-23. Eight teams participated in the tournament, which marked the debut of ultimate as a Foundation Sport with School Sports Newfoundland and Labrador (SSNL).
